From the appearance of the products, the cutlery can be divided into ordinary cutlery and folding cutlery. Different occasions and different foods are equipped with different knives, forks and spoons. For example, the plastic cutleries used in restaurant are common cutleries. On some food are placed with folding knife, fork and spoon. This is easy to pack. Different knife, fork and spoon, the cutlery mold production process is not the same.
Normally the materials of cutlery are PP and PS. Different plastic needs different steel. For cutlery mould steel generally are H13, S136, 2344, 2316, quenching material etc. Because the cutlery is fast moving consumer goods, the plastic cutlery mould is commonly made into multi-cavities. The plastic injection cutlery mould shape is designed to be square or round.
Using pin point gate, hot runner system or semi-hot runner. If the cutlery mould designed as square shape, it could use semi-hot runner. The mould processing will need high speed engraving, high speed milling machines etc. Common cutlery moulds have two halves. For folding cutlery mould, there need add slides on the mould halves. The folding cutlery moulds are more complicated and difficult than common cutlery moulds.
